The Holmen Area Fire Department responded to a residential basement fire at 9:13 am on Sunday, September 6, 2026 after a neighbor reported smoke coming from the home. Firefighters quickly contained the fire with assistance from the Onalaska, La Crosse, and Galesville Fire Departments. No civilians were injured, and a family dog was safely reunited with its owners.
